
Christmas Tree Cake
Make an orange sand cake or plain madeira in an oblong tin; place aside to
cool.
Draw the outline of a Christmas tree on a piece of paper, and cut out the
centre to make a stencil. Place this on the cake, sprinkle with icing sugar
through a flour sifter, and lift the paper design off carefully, trimming with
small piece of chopped cherries and green angelica.

For the base or tub of the tree, cut a piece of angelica or firmly set jelly and
attach the cake with the dab of jam or icing to hold it in position.
