
Two-Tiered Round Wedding Cakes (Grape Design)
Make a 450 grams rich wedding cake mixture in 23 cm and 13 cm round
cake tins and allow to cool. Trim the cake and cover with fondant covering.
Allow to become set and dry. Measure the top of the cake and divide it evenly
into six. Mark the position of each section and, using a fine writing tube, pipe
six semi-circles on the cake. Pipe bunches of grapes on these, using a plain
writing tube. Add leaves and trails of royal icing to give a vine effect.

Arrange moulded roses at equal distances round the cake and place a cluster
of moulded geranium, in the centre. place the pillars a position on the larger
cake. and decorate each with grapes and leaves. Pipe a double-scallop drape
round the cake and add a cluster of grapes at regular intervals. Shell-edge the
border. and tam the top of the cake with a small, harmonising posy of fresh
flowers.
